this is the second Royal wedding I've watched. yes , I gave up my precious sleep to watch it and as I type, I'm imagining my words in a British accent.LOL. but all of this is history so of course I'm not missing it. this wedding was so gorgeous and so tradition laden. I had goosebumps countless times as I watched it all on BBC America(of course) and I had tons of smiles as I watched the street interviews with all the Brits along the route to the Palace. I love the hats!!!! why don't we wear more hats? in my former life I know I was a milliner. but I just love the happy, united and optimistic energy of the crowd. this was such a great way to start my day. maybe now my writer's block will vanish.
and by the way, I'm wearing a tiara all day!
I didn't get up to watch the wedding, but did see Kate's dress--very pretty.

I also didn't wake up early to watch, but I wish them so much happiness. Kate looked lovely! Her dress reminded me of Grace Kelly's. I still don't get how Prince W went from being a Prince to a Duke, but then again, I hear that whole title thing is kind of complicated.

ReplyDeleteI missed it and for some reason, I didn't really want to see it. I watched Charles and Di's wedding, although I was very young at the time and don't remember much. I think it was overhyped and I was tired hearing about it by the time the actual wedding took place
ReplyDeleteThe hats are called "Fascinators". One looked like a black satellite dish and another looked like the finial at the top of a gate post in Alice in Wonderland.
ReplyDeleteBut I LOVE hats. I've always wanted to wear one, but figured I looked like an idiot in them. I've bought quite a few, and never wore one of them.
that was Princess Beatrice's hat. She is definitely her own person!
